Artisan Crafts / Culinary Arts / Pumpkin Carving

the first of my 2008 pumpkins. I did this for the President of my theater group as we are currently doing the stage version of Narnia, in which I am Father X-mas.

All my pumpkins are sketch with a standard pen, then shaded and detailed using Sharpies and Goo Gone, then shaved with wood working tools and finally gutted and thinned out from the inside so the light shows through. They can range from 3-6 hrs total, but I've been getting better at it every year so the time is slowly getting faster and the detail/textures/techniques getting better.
